Sr. MTS, Software Engineer- Java

What you need to know about the role:

As a Senior MTS, you will be at the forefront of building and enhancing the platform capabilities and solutions. You will leverage your technical expertise to build solutions that empower our customers to effortlessly access and manage platform services like Notifications, File Transfer Systems, Media Services, Document management platform etc. Looking for a full stack engineer with hands-on development experience in backend frameworks who will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions through established software development lifecycle framework.

Meet our Team:

Foundational Commons platform team is responsible for building and scaling horizontal services like Notifications, Dropzone, Crawler, Document management etc which are critical for several business operations and powering every payment at PayPal. This role is responsible for designing, architecting and driving solutions which meets OnePayPal platform vision by collaborating with sernior tech leadership across functions and business units.

• Own the design, development and deployment of Foundational Platform application and services.
• Participate actively and solution architecture that involve multiple systems.
• Identify any product/functionality gaps and collaborate internal product and technology teams to define the necessary development to support solution delivery.
• Drive integration efforts and lead critical work streams of strategic initiatives.
• Drive engineering excellence.
• Pro-active response in identifying and troubleshooting integration or technical issues.

• A bachelor s degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of
  technical education and work experience.
• 12+ years experience building software or web applications with object oriented or functional programming languages.
• Expert knowledge in Java, REST, Spring Frameworks, Message Queues
• Familiarity with other languages and technologies development like databases, no sql databases, oracle db
• Experience in various architecture design patterns, design, and implementation of platforms & services
• Demonstrated ability to scope, create and successfully deploy new strategy/ initiatives / capabilities.
• A deep understanding of data structures, object-oriented design, and algorithms.
• Experience working with large-scale, highly available, and distributed systems.
• Experience developing automated unit, integration, and functional tests,
  preferably in a Java environment using tools like JUnit, Mockito, or Spring Test.
• Competent in software engineering tools (e.g. Java build tools) and best practices (e.g. unit testing, test automation, continuous integration, etc.) with experience in using build and deployment tools to streamline and automate the development lifecycle.
• Experience to interact with engineering teams from multiple geo-locations.
• Should have good communication skills.
• Expertise in online payments and related domains is a plus
