Job Overview:

- Xindus is seeking an experienced and visionary Manager - Operations to lead and manage the entire logistics lifecycle from first mile to last mile, including air freight, LCL (Less than Container Load), and FCL (Full Container Load) ocean shipments.

- In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing both air and ocean freight operations, ensuring seamless coordination across all touchpoints in the supply chain while optimizing cost, efficiency, and compliance.

- This role is critical to supporting our cross-border trade business and ensuring world-class delivery experiences for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

- End-to-End Operations Leadership: Lead and oversee the entire global logistics and freight operations across all modes-air, ocean (LCL, FCL), first mile to last mile, ensuring smooth execution from origin to destination.

- Strategic Freight Management: Develop and implement strategic plans for air and ocean freight, optimising routes, consolidating shipments, and driving cost efficiencies across global trade lanes.

- Vendor & Partner Relationship Management: Build, maintain, and negotiate relationships with freight carriers, shipping lines, airlines, freight forwarders, and 3PLs. Ensure adherence to SLAs and achieve cost-effective freight services.

- First Mile to Last Mile Coordination: Oversee and streamline first-mile (supplier to port) and last-mile (port to customer) logistics, coordinating with transportation partners and local delivery networks for on-time, cost-efficient shipments.

- Multimodal Logistics Optimization: Lead initiatives to integrate air, sea, and ground transport seamlessly, identifying and leveraging opportunities to optimise multimodal shipping routes.

- Ocean Freight Expertise: Manage LCL/FCL shipments and ensure compliance with international shipping requirements. Negotiate container allocations with shipping lines and plan for seasonal or high-demand fluctuations.

- Operational Excellence: Ensure that all freight operations adhere to global best practices, including timely deliveries, cost management, regulatory compliance, and high customer satisfaction.

- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the freight and logistics team, driving performance and instilling a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. Provide clear direction and support to ensure operational excellence.

- Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance shipment visibility, reduce delays, and streamline operations across different markets and regions.

- Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to freight operations, such as delays, compliance issues, and supply chain disruptions.

- Data-Driven Insights: Utilize freight management software and analytics tools to monitor performance, provide regular updates to the executive team, and identify opportunities for improvement or cost savings.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with first mile partners, warehouse team, finance, sales, and customer service teams to ensure alignment on shipment schedules, inventory management, and customer expectations.

Requirements:

- Experience: 10+ years of experience in freight operations with significant experience in both air and ocean freight (LCL/FCL), including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing end-to-end global logistics.

- Multimodal Expertise: Proven experience in managing shipments across multiple modes of transport (air, sea, land) with deep expertise in air freight and ocean shipping.

- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high performance teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

- Operational Excellence: Deep understanding of global freight logistics, customs regulations, and supply chain management, with a focus on operational efficiency, cost optimization, and compliance.

- Analytical & Strategic Thinker: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, forecast trends, and make data-driven decisions. Experience with freight management software and logistics tracking tools.

- Communication & Negotiation: Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills to engage with key partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field; MBA or equivalent is a plus.
