Job Summary:The Founder & Head of School is a visionary leader responsible for creating, developing, and managing all aspects of the school, from academic programs to overall operations.
This role will involve both strategic leadership and hands-on involvement in building a strong school culture, ensuring high standards of education, and establishing the school as a beacon of excellence in the community.
The Founder & Head of School will also play a pivotal role in fundraising, branding, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Vision: Provide visionary leadership in shaping the schools mission, educational philosophy, and long-term strategy. Develop and execute a compelling vision for the school that inspires students, parents, faculty, and staff.
Set high academic and operational standards while fostering an environment of inclusion, respect, and community.
Academic & Curriculum Development: Oversee the design and implementation of a rigorous and innovative curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
Ensure that the schools educational programs align with national or international standards, and adapt the curriculum as necessary to meet evolving educational trends. Maintain a commitment to educational excellence and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
Operational Management: Establish and manage the schools operational processes, including budgeting, staffing, admissions, and day-to-day operations.
Develop and monitor policies and procedures for academic and administrative functions, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Oversee facilities management, including campus maintenance, safety, and resource allocation. Staff Leadership & Development: Recruit, mentor, and retain highly skilled faculty and staff who align with the schools mission and values. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, providing opportunities for professional development and growth.
Conduct regular performance evaluations for staff and ensure alignment with the schools educational and cultural objectives.
Student & Parent Engagement: Act as the primary spokesperson for the school, representing its values, vision, and goals in all interactions with parents, students, and the broader community.
Develop strong relationships with parents and community leaders, creating a network of support for the school.
Ensure a high level of satisfaction and engagement among students and parents, addressing concerns and facilitating effective communication.
Financial Stewardship & Fundraising: Develop and manage the schools budget, ensuring the financial sustainability and growth of the institution. Lead fundraising efforts, including identifying and cultivating donor relationships, organizing campaigns, and seeking grants to support the schools initiatives.
Implement tuition strategies and manage financial aid programs to ensure accessibility while maintaining financial health. Governance & Reporting: Report regularly to the schools Board of Directors on the schools academic, financial, and operational performance. Collaborate with the Board to make strategic decisions and ensure the alignment of the schools goals with the broader educational landscape.
Ensure transparency and accountability in all aspects of school governance.Key Qualifications: Education & Experience: A Masters degree in Education, School Leadership, or a related field (Doctorate preferred). 10+ years of experience in educational leadership, with a proven track record in managing a school or educational organization.
Experience in founding or leading a startup or new school is highly desirable. Skills & Expertise: In-depth knowledge of curriculum development, educational methodologies, and child development.
Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, fundraising, and resource allocation. Proven leadership ability, including the capacity to inspire and motivate staff, students, and the community.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Certifications & Training: Certification in educational leadership or school administration is a plus (e.g., Principal Certification, Head of School Certification).
Professional development in management, governance, or organizational growth is advantageous.
