Oracle Apps DBA Lead with OCI

Oracle Apps DBA Lead with strong expertise in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) administration and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This role will lead the administration, management, and support of Oracle E-Business Suite environments, both on premise and in the cloud. The ideal candidate will also have hands-on experience in migrating, deploying, and managing Oracle Apps environments on OCI, along with optimizing cloud resources for performance, security, and cost management.

Key Responsibilities

Oracle Apps DBA Leadership:

• Lead and mentor a team of Oracle Apps DBAs, ensuring high standards of operational excellence in managing Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) environments.
• Provide strategic direction and best practices for the administration and management of Oracle EBS R12 environments (R12 and earlier) on both on premise and cloud infrastructures.
• Lead the planning, execution, and troubleshooting of Oracle EBS database and application tier upgrades, patches, and migrations.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of Oracle E-Business Suite, including implementing disaster recovery and backup strategies.

OCI Administration:

• Manage Oracle E-Business Suite and databases hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Administer OCI resources like compute instances, block storage, object storage, load balancers, and databases.
• Design, implement, manage secure network topologies, using OCI services like VCN, subnets, security lists, and fast connect.
• Optimize OCI resource usage to ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and performance, aligning with Oracle best practices.
• Administer and maintain Oracle Database environments, including tuning, backups, and patch management in OCI.

Migration & Cloud Strategy:

• Lead efforts to migrate Oracle EBS systems from on premise environments to OCI, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
• Develop, implement, and manage cloud-based disaster recovery and high availability solutions using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
• Work with teams to plan and execute the migration of legacy Oracle Applications to the cloud with minimal impact on business processes.

Performance Tuning & Optimization:

• Oversee the tuning of Oracle databases and application servers to ensure optimal performance in cloud environments.
• Monitor, manage, and tune the EBS and database environments for maximum uptime and performance.
• Implement database and application monitoring using OCIs monitoring and logging services, as well as third-party tools.

Security & Compliance:

• Ensure the security of Oracle EBS environments, including patching vulnerabilities, configuring security best practices, and managing user roles and privileges.
• Implement encryption, secure access controls, and secure application configurations to meet compliance requirements.
• Manage identity and access management (IAM) for OCI to ensure proper access control and governance of cloud resources.

Collaboration & Documentation:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including functional teams, network engineers, and cloud architects to ensure smooth integration of Oracle Apps with other applications and systems.
• Provide documentation for all Oracle EBS and OCI administration processes, configurations, troubleshooting guides, and operational procedures.
• Ensure regular reporting of cloud resource usage, performance metrics, and system health.
• In-depth knowledge of Oracle database administration, including installation, patching, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high availability strategies.
• Solid experience in managing OCI services such as compute, networking (VCN, VPN, FastConnect, Load Balancer).), storage (block, object), load balancers, and identity/access management (IAM).
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Database services (Autonomous Database, Oracle Database Cloud Service, etc.).
• Knowledge of Oracle EBS architecture, including database tier, application tier, and related technologies.
• Expertise in using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for monitoring, patching, and managing Oracle environments.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experience with Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), and Oracle Data Guard.
• Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Migration tools, including Data Transfer Services and Database Migration tools.
• Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, or OCI CLI for deploying cloud resources and automating Oracle EBS tasks.
• Experience in implementing disaster recovery, backup strategies, and business continuity in the cloud.
