Software Engineer

Job Description Summary As a full stack developer in imaging platform team, you ll be responsible for designing, building, delivering and maintaining next generation platform solutions for GE Healthcare Products. Extensive hand-on development experience in containerization using Kubernetes / Docker on Linux Env, Python, Ansible and CI/CD using DevOps. Responsible for software lifecycle including activities such as feature grooming, requirement analysis, documentation/procedures, technology assessment, implementation, code reviews and formal release activities.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software developers and imaging teams to implement solutions that are aligned with and extend shared platforms and solutions

• Apply Agile principles of SDLC and methodologies, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques

• Writes codes that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project

• Build common microservices for Healthcare Imaging platform and healthcare solution using microservices architecture

• Actively participate in grooming, PI planning, sprint reviews and demos

• Perform Technical feasibility assessment and share outcomes that help conclude technology decisions

• Understand performance parameters, assess application performance and address security issues

• Ensure unit test automation using BDD and consistent code quality by adhering to SONAR quality gates

• Activity manages formal verification and release activities

• Coordinate with internal team members and other imaging teams for platform integration and defect fixes

Qualifications and experience

Bachelor s degree in computer science or in STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

Master s degree in computer science/Math or related field

A minimum of 3 to 6 years of professional experience (include technical skill)

Desired Characteristics

Primary Technical Expertise

• Rest based Microservices using GO, Python, Java, Undertow and C++

• Containerization Orchestration with Kubernetes for Microservices development

• BDD based automated unit testing using Cucumber

• Basic understanding on Angular, Typescript and hands on experience in any one Database

• Good communication and presentation skills

Secondary Technical Expertise

Developing platform solutions for Healthcare Imaging and Radiology workflows DICOM Standards Visualization for DICOM images Web UI Technologies - HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, XML, JSON, Angular, Typescript, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, Node JS, React and Responsive Web Design

Business Acumen:

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments

• Experience in building scalable and highly available distributed systems

• Expert in breaking down problems and estimate time for development tasks

• Evangelizes how our technology solves customer problems from a technology and business perspective.
