Role Overview :

As the Director of Data Science at Wingify, you will lead the data science initiatives for our flagship product, VWO. You will be responsible for crafting and implementing a comprehensive data science strategy to support VWO's evolution as a global leader in conversion optimization and experimentation.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with product managers, engineering teams, and business leaders to develop AI-driven features, improve product insights, and optimize customer journeys using data science and machine learning methodologies.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Science Strategy :

- Define and execute a comprehensive data science roadmap for VWO, aligning with the company's overall product and business goals.

- Lead AI/ML-driven initiatives to advance the platform's capabilities in conversion rate optimization, personalization, and A/B testing.

Team Leadership & Development :

- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of data scientists and machine learning engineers.

- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

- Work closely with product, engineering, marketing, and customer success teams to identify and prioritize data science opportunities that can be translated into product features and customer insights.

Model Development & Deployment :

- Lead the development of machine learning models and algorithms to improve user experience, optimize experiments, and deliver actionable insights to our customers.

- Ensure models are scalable, robust, and secure.

AI-Powered Optimization :

- Develop AI-powered features that enable customers to make data-driven decisions, improve website conversion rates, and enhance their overall digital experience.

Customer-Centric Solutions :

- Leverage data science to personalize customer interactions and optimize their journeys within the VWO platform.

- Work with the product team to ensure data science projects enhance the customer experience and contribute directly to product innovation.

Data Governance & Security :

- Ensure data privacy, compliance, and security standards are maintained across all data science initiatives. Implement best practices for data quality and governance.

Innovation :

- Stay abreast of industry trends in machine learning, AI, and data science technologies.

- Identify opportunities to leverage cutting-edge tools and techniques to solve business challenges and enhance VWO's product capabilities.

Key Requirements :

Proven Leadership Experience :

- 8-10 years of experience in data science, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.

- Experience leading teams in a SaaS or related product environment is highly preferred.

Technical Expertise :

- Deep expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and advanced statistical modeling.

- Hands-on experience with A/B testing, experimentation platforms, and real-time data analytics is a plus.

Strategic Vision :

- Ability to define and implement data science strategies that align with business goals and contribute to product differentiation and customer success.

Team Leadership :

- Demonstrated success in building, leading, and scaling data science teams, with a focus on mentoring, development, and fostering a collaborative environment.

Hands-on Skills :

- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or PyTorch.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and data pipeline tools is preferred.

Product & Business Focus :

- Experience working closely with product managers, engineers, and business leaders to deliver data-driven features and insights that enhance product functionality and improve user engagement.

A/B Testing Expertise :

- Strong understanding of A/B testing methodologies, multi-variate testing, and experimental design, ideally with experience in conversion rate optimization.

Preferred Qualifications :

Educational Qualification :

- Completed or pursuing a PhD from a top global university, preferably in the US or EU, with demonstrated expertise in machine learning, AI, or related fields.

Proven Research Experience :

- Experience presenting at academic conferences, with a strong publication record.

- Ability to critically assess research papers and apply insights to product development.

Technical Expertise :

- Strong hands-on coding skills (Python, R, SQL).

- Familiarity with machine learning libraries (TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, PyTorch) is essential.

- Preference for candidates who have built real-world systems and taken research from concept to production.

Deep Learning & LLM Focus :

- Demonstrated interest and experience with deep learning and large language models (LLMs).

- Experience running experiments with LLMs is a major plus.

Hands-On ML Experience :

- Practical experience with machine learning, including courses and real-world applications.

Product & Business Acumen :

- Experience working closely with product managers and business leaders to translate data insights into actionable features and customer-centric solutions.

Leadership & Hiring :

- Proven ability to lead teams, hire talent, and mentor junior data scientists.
