Senior Manager, Software Engineering

Position Summary... Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.

U.S. Technology: This business closely partners with our U.S. stores and eCommerce business to serve customers by empowering associates, stores and merchants with technology innovation. rom grocery and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. provides the deep assortment that our customers appreciate whether theyre shopping online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps or shopping in a store. The focus areas include customer, stores and associates, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science and search & personalization.

Our org is responsible for Design, development, and operations of Availability platform encompassing multiple high qps low latency subsystems. We interact with multiple teams across the company to provide scalable robust technical solutions in said space.

What You will Do

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you ll play a pivotal role in: building a passionate team and meaningful product that will fundamentally change the way people interact with e-commerce applications. You will be focused on driving part of strategic horizontal initiatives that advance the skills and capabilities of the organisation, while at the same time improving the level of enablement for partners and stakeholders. You will be responsible for growing the team; working closely with our engineering, design and product teams to deliver on our vision for the future and help evolve our apps.

In this role you will be responsible to manage and grow fullstack team(s) of experienced and passionate engineers (Node, React, Java, ML)

You will work closely with our product, design, and UX teams to create amazing and intuitive experiences that make it effortless to connect different apps together

You will lead and participate in technical, design, and product discussions with leaders across the organization and company

Build a world-class team by hiring exceptional talent, coaching and developing engineers, cultivating pragmatic data driven engineering decision-making, and leveraging your technical expertise to constantly raise the bar

You will also be required to have strong communication & interpersonal skills to collaborate with & manage stakeholders and other cross-functional teams.

What You Will Bring

Minimum qualifications:

• B.E./B. Tech/MS in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 12+ years of experience in design and development of highly scalable applications and plaxtform in product based companies / R&D divisions with 2+ years of managing and mentoring experience (including providing direct feedback, investing in the career growth of your team)
• Ability to balance the long-term "big picture" and short term implications of design decisions.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - including negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills; ability to influence and persuade, without direct control.
• Proven experience of designing / leading scalable cloud native solutions which good grip on cloud platform, CI/CD and associated build pipelines.
• People management
