Summary

The "Manager/Senior Manager, AI Strategy" will lead Wadhwani AIs efforts to enhance the delivery of higher education through the integration of AI, education, and policy frameworks

As the key driver of our policy consulting initiatives with the Ministry of Education (MoE), the candidate will shape the practice by managing projects from conception to completion, ensuring high-quality outcomes and effective stakeholder engagement

Reporting to the Engagement Lead at the MoE, the candidate will actively collaborate with various Wadhwani AI teams as needed

Wadhwani AI is collaborating with the Ministry of Education's Department of Higher Education (MoE-DoHE) as an AI task force to support their journey toward becoming AI-ready

We are partnering with the Ministry to develop AI-driven solutions that address key challenges in higher education

To amplify our impact, we are building a dedicated team of policy professionals to support the Government of India on issues at the intersection of Higher Education, Artificial Intelligence, technology, and systemic change

Current projects include the ideation and establishment of the Centre of Excellence for AI in Education, Digital Viswavidyalaya, and AI/tech-enabled initiatives for Mental Health and Inclusion in Higher Education

Our team will play a critical role in shaping policy, driving policy processes, and supporting implementation efforts

Roles And Responsibilities

Design and implementation: Develop evidence-based interventions, policy frameworks, support mechanisms, and research notes using digital-first principles to advance MoE-DoHEs mandate

Policy research: Analyze global AI and technology trends to recommend improvements in higher education policies and programs, aligning them with Higher-Ed KPIs and market-linked targets

Project management: Oversee the implementation of AI and technology-integrated interventions in higher education, in line with the requirements of MoE-DoHE

Support: Assist MoE-DoHE officials with tasks including drafting documents, conducting research, preparing presentations, and supporting monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities

Strategy Development: Craft comprehensive analytics / evidence-based strategies, identifying key development pathways to meet NEPs mandate

Evidence-based policy: Drive the value of data-driven and evidence-based policy and governance

Insight Delivery: Design and develop user-friendly solutions that extract actionable insights from both structured and unstructured data, empowering governments to make informed decisions

Future Ecosystem Building: Contribute to the development of advanced decision-making ecosystems by facilitating effective data exchange and integration among key stakeholders

Human-Centered Solutioning: Ensure sustainable and ethical impact by prioritizing equity, inclusion, and access for all individuals

Leverage AI and technology to enhance how people engage with higher education programs and policies, contributing to the Viksit Bharat goal

Thought Leadership: Be recognized as an authority on integrating AI and technology with education policy and programs to drive impactful outcomes

Client Engagement: Define, guide, and advise clients on addressing challenges at the intersection of education and AI/technology policy

Business development: Identify complex challenges in higher education and draft proposals to address these barriers through policy adjustments, program restructuring, and digital solutions, driving growth and expanding the education policy consultancy vertical

Requirements

Educational Background: Masters degree (or equivalent) in Education, Public Policy, Law, Economics, AI, or related fields

Equivalent work experience in a relevant domain may also be considered

Professional Experience: 8-12 years of relevant experience in policy, education, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), economics, social science research, or related fields, with a minimum of 2 years in international development consulting or managing large-scale education initiatives

Demonstrated hands-on experience and proficiency in at least six (6) of the following competencies listed below:
