Devops Engineer

Role & responsibilities:

• Manage AWS and GCP infrastructure at the organisational level.
• Liaise with development on upcoming features and the associated infrastructure

requirements.

• Assist developers in implementing deployment, observability and alerting for their

applications.

• Mentor and educate IT and development on Dev-Ops tools and processes.
• Constantly review existing and proposed developments with a view to continuous

improvement of the whole cloud estate to the benefit of the services running on it.

• Report on AWS/GCP costs and utilisation to management.
• Document tools and procedures related to the cloud infrastructure and automation
• Assist in developing KPIs for services and designing the means to monitor and

measure/alert against those KPIs alongside development and product teams

Required Keyskills :

• Demonstrable in-depth experience in a similar role
• Familiarity with software development processes/projects
• Knowledge of Linux operating systems
• Ability to use scripting languages (e.g. bash, Python, JavaScript)
• In-depth knowledge of load balancing, DNS, security and infrastructure/application

deployment in AWS and/or GCP, preferably both.

• Awareness of other AWS/GCP service offerings (e.g. RDS, LightSail, GKE etc)
• Experience of automating infrastructure/application deployment into AWS and/or GCP.
• Extensive experience of using Terraform as the language and platform for IAC
• GitHub Actions experience
• Experience of observability/monitoring and how to enable in AWS/GCP
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• Strong written and spoken Englis
