ASSISTANT - X RAY

The Assistant - X-Ray plays a critical role in assisting radiologists and radiology technologists in the preparation and management of X-ray procedures. This position involves patient care, assisting with equipment setup, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and maintaining smooth operations in the radiology department. The Assistant - X-Ray is expected to provide excellent patient service while ensuring that all procedures are carried out efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Preparation and Assistance:

   • Greet patients and explain the X-ray procedure to ensure they are comfortable and informed.
   • Assist patients in positioning for X-ray exams while ensuring minimal discomfort.
   • Monitor patients during the procedure, ensuring their safety and comfort.
   • Assist in obtaining necessary patient information and updating records.

2. Equipment Setup and Maintenance:

   • Assist X-ray technologists with the setup and preparation of X-ray equipment.
   • Ensure X-ray machines are functioning properly before use, reporting any malfunctions to senior staff.
   • Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization in the X-ray room and equipment storage areas.
   • Ensure that X-ray film or digital imaging systems are handled and stored properly.

3. Safety and Compliance:

   • Adhere to all radiation safety protocols and infection control standards to ensure patient and staff safety.
   • Ensure the proper use of protective equipment, such as lead aprons, during procedures.
   • Maintain accurate records of X-ray procedures and patient information.
   • Assist in monitoring radiation exposure and adhering to relevant guidelines.
