SENIOR TECHNICIAN - CT AND MRI

The Senior Technician - CT and MRI is responsible for performing advanced imaging procedures including Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans. This role ensures high-quality diagnostic images are captured for patient evaluation, and plays a key role in maintaining the equipment, assisting with patient care, and supporting junior technicians.

• CT and MRI Procedures:

  • Perform CT and MRI scans in accordance with medical protocols, ensuring the proper use of imaging equipment and techniques.
  • Position patients accurately to ensure high-quality imaging results.
  • Operate CT and MRI scanners to obtain diagnostic images of the body.
  • Monitor patients during imaging procedures to ensure their comfort and safety.
  • Adjust machine settings as required to capture clear and accurate diagnostic images.

• Patient Care & Safety:

  • Explain procedures to patients, addressing any questions or concerns to reduce anxiety.
  • Ensure patient safety during imaging procedures, following radiation safety protocols and maintaining appropriate shielding.
  • Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA).

• Equipment Maintenance & Calibration:

  • Ensure that CT and MRI equipment is properly calibrated and functioning.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions to the Radiology Supervisor and assist with coordinating repairs.

• Supervision & Training:

  • Provide guidance and training to junior technicians, ensuring proper procedures and best practices are followed.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and help orient new staff members.
  • Oversee the workflow of the CT and MRI department, ensuring efficient operation and high-quality imaging results.

• Record Keeping & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging results, reports, and medical history.
  • Ensure proper documentation of procedures and patient interactions, following departmental and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure that reports are delivered in a timely manner for review by radiologists.

• Collaboration & Communication:

  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to assist in the diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Communicate clearly with patients and healthcare staff, ensuring smooth workflow and patient care.
