Profile: Senior Network Engineer

Job Highlights : Experience in setup, configuration and maintenance of networking infrastructure including Cisco switches,routers,firewalls,VPN technologies, ,and other WAN administration. . Strong knowledge of IP / MPLS Network Management and protocols: IPv4 and IPv6,BGP,OSPF,MPLS,L2 / L3 VPN,QoS,Security.

Qualification: Any Graduate or 3 Years Diploma (Electrical/Electronic or Computer Science or IT) with diploma or certification course in Hardware & Networking with Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills. Fluent in English and Hindi. Having CCNA / CCNP certifications will be preferable.

Experience: 3- 5 years Work-exp in a reputed company . Good Knowledge in managing Tier2 & 3 Network, IP/Analog Telecom setup.

Experience can be relaxed for deserving candidate.

Responsibilities:

Senior Network Engineer will have to asses and resolve LAN/WAN related issues within the stipulated time. Day-to-day activity will include troubleshooting, maintenance, monitoring of Switches, WAN / LAN Network Traffic Analysis, Network Fine tuning, network health check, updating network documents and keeping periodical backup of switch configurations. Engineer will also supervise and extend help to network / OFC technicians for any expansion / alteration in the LAN which may include cabling jobs (UTP & Fiber) and all other associated jobs. He also should have sound knowledge on other network equipment such Network switches, UTP to Fiber Transceiver, UTP to Fiber converter, LAN Extenders, Single mode and multimode Fiber cables and allied components, etc., which may require to be used as and when needed. He should provide quantity estimates for new connections/cabling jobs or resolution of the cabling problems and should coordinate with Network AMC vendors, Network Anti-virus Firewall, Vendors etc. Apart from the above, the Network Engineers should also possess/acquire minimum knowledge of the latest CISCO, Aruba, HP and Other Technologies on Switches / Routers / Modems / Firewall Management / RF / Wi-Fi access points & other Network items as and when new models are introduced.

Senior Network Engineer may have additional responsibility as Team Leader to manage LAN & FMS team. The Team leader shall act as single point. Responsibilities including Supervision of FMS staff; Producing Attendance Registers; Managing the service desk analysts; Providing advice and guidance to users and service desk analysts; Producing management reports; Representing the service desk by attending meetings as the service desk representative; Maintaining the processes used within the service desk; Monitor the progress of calls & regularly interact with customer nodal officer to provide call status; Manage spares inventory. He will be keeping the record of material sent out and brought back after repairs; Should be in a position to analyse and resolve the problem, must provide help desk statistics on periodical basis. Quarterly performance review of all the engineers & report submission.
