DevOPS Engineer

With general direction and minimum supervision, we are seeking multiple positions as a senior and intermediate level operations support for VAM. You will be responsible for conducting analytical research, identifying, and resolving issues, and providing production IT Operations support as requested. Additionally, you will become a subject matter expert to support IT Operations on the VAM Payments platform. This position is virtual and will report to a VP IT operations & compliance.

Essential Functions:

Experienced Systems Engineer who has the aptitude and attitude to research and troubleshoot issues from the business or product management teams. You will utilize your analytical skills to understand the problem, identify root cause and propose recommendations or escalate to senior staff in Development or IT OPS teams depending on the nature of the problem. Ideal candidates will have a can-do attitude, passion for technology in both operational and development disciplines and a desire to learn the business application & processes. This is a remote position with at least 2+ years of Linux system administration with high volume web sites and understanding of PHP and .Net framework. This position will operate and have reporting responsibility to both functional areas, Development and IT OPS.

- Develop deep understanding of .Net/PHP codebase in order to support deployment and infrastructure activities

- Provide 2nd @ 3rd level support & research to the business

- Research information provided by the business, verify findings, communicate and escalate to senior Development

- Test solutions and propose changes

- Provide IT OPS support as Systems Engineer

- Ability to maintain confidentiality

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience with Azure HA and DR technologies

- Experience with LAMP stack

- Experience with Azure MS-SQL

- Experience with Azure webapps

- 2+ years Linux system administration

- 2+ years of Azure administration

- 2+ years of deployment and automation

- Scripting with powershell, bash, or python (may consider others)

- On-demand candidate must be available during US time.
