Role Description
• Typical Work Scope includes following equipment: -
• Pressure drop calculations for centrifugal & turbine pumps.
• Pressure drop calculations for centrifugal & positive displacement blowers/compressors.
• NPIP calculations for metering pumps.
• Sizing calculations for HVAC units/systems.
• Inquiry/TC/MFC of centrifugal pumps.
• Inquiry/TC/MFC of turbine pumps.
• Inquiry/TC/MFC of metering pumps/skids.
• Inquiry/TC/MFC of blowers/compressors.
• Inquiry/TC/MFC of mixers/agitators.
• Inquiry/TC/MFC of any other rotary equipment.
• Inquiry/TC/MFC of special packages like MBR/SBR, clarifiers, centrifuges, CLO2 system, HVAC etc.
• Inquiry/TC/MFC of non-rotary process equipment (cartridge filters, heaters, heat exchanger etc.)
• Inquiry/TC/MFC of specialty items (gates, ejectors, injectors etc.)
• Inquiry/TC/MFC of manual valves.
Roles and Responsibility
Typical List & sequence of major activities (Primary Responsibility): -
• Study of contract documents & preparation of Design Guide.
• Preparation of MBO-Master BOQ.
• Preparation of up-line documents/calculations required for inquiries of specific equipment.
• Preparation, checking & releasing of Inquiry documents for all items in Master BOQ.
• Preparation & publishing of Engineering Variance statement.
• Receipt of offers from V1, V2 Vn as per contract approved vendor list (simultaneously or sequentially).
• Evaluation of all offers & clarifying/resolving all the technical queries & issues.
• Acceptance/rejection of technical deviations from contractual & value engineering aspects.
• Issuance of Technical Clearance on all offers.
• Preparation & release of technical comparison statement.
• On PO placement and receipt of post-order documents from the selected vendor (OEM), evaluating those for technical integrity (w.r.t. technical clearance) and also evaluating additional detailed documentation.
• Ensuring proper Interface Checking Getting comments from all disciplines involved & getting them resolved from the OEM.
• Preparation of client submittals for all items, including spares, utilities, auxiliaries etc. as per contract approved Master Document List.
• Interaction with client/consultant for getting approvals of all submitted documents. Visit/meet, if required for resolution of comments and getting quicker approvals.
• Release of Manufacturing Clearance (MFC) on client approved documents.
• Quick & timely exchange of technical information, updating documents, providing hold/release decisions during the entire cycle noted above.
• Typical List & sequence of other activities (Secondary responsibilities): -
• During initial stages, providing reasonably good/valid inputs to detail engineering team for preparation of layouts, mechanical GAs etc. Prepare, maintain the database for the same & extract the required information whenever required.
• Receipt of observations from QA/QC inspector (after manufacturing) for various items & resolution thereof. Timely update of affected documents & re-approvals, if required, from client/consultant.
• Receipt of various queries from site team during erection & commissioning of the plant & resolutions thereof.
• Value engineering without affecting quality or performance of the equipment.
• At the end of the project (post PGTR), update all the documents/calculations as As Built, within reasonable time, which need to be updated as per changes/modifications carried out for achieving PGTR.
