Overview :

We are seeking an skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to oversee and manage database systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management, performance tuning, security, and team leadership. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of databases, while also coordinating with other IT and business teams.

Key Responsibilities :

Database Management :

- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

- Will be responsible for the installation, configuration, management, and maintenance of Informatica PowerCenter and related databases.

- Will ensure the performance, security, and availability of Informatica environments and databases, enabling smooth data integration and ETL processes.

- Implement and manage backup and recovery procedures to protect data integrity.

Performance Tuning and Optimization :

- Monitor and optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and resource management.

- Perform regular database health checks and tune databases for optimal performance.

Database Design and Architecture :

- Design and implement database schemas, tables, and relationships to support business applications.

- Plan and manage database capacity to ensure scalability and efficient resource allocation.

Security and Compliance :

- Implement and manage database security measures, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing.

- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and organizational policies.

Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution :

- Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, connectivity issues, and data corruption.

- Lead incident management and coordinate with other teams to address complex problems.

Scripting and Automation :

- Develop and maintain scripts for automating routine database tasks and maintenance operations.

- Create and manage automated monitoring and alerting systems.

Team Leadership and Collaboration :

- Lead and mentor a team of junior DBAs, providing guidance and support for their professional development.

- Collaborate with IT teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and requirements.

Project Management :

- Manage database-related projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new implementations.

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Documentation and Reporting :

- Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and standards.

- Generate reports and analytics related to database performance and health.

Who You Are :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

- Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Master, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Database - Speciality) is a plus.

Primary Skills :

- Proven experience with major database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)

- Strong knowledge of Informatica including installation, configuration, and management.

- Expertise in database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management.

- Ability to optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and resource management

- Proficiency in writing scripts (e.g., SQL, PowerShell, Shell) for automation of routine tasks and database maintenance.

- Experience in managing database incidents and coordinating with other teams to resolve complex problems.

- Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).

- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Secondary Skills :

- Familiarity with BI tools and platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for reporting and data analysis.

- Experience in managing data warehouses and understanding of ETL processes.

- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java)

- Familiarity with data protection regulations and disaster recovery planning.
