Infection Control Nurse (ICN)

Job Content: To ensur control and prevention of Infections by investigations, monitoring and reporting cases on timely basis, by following defined protocols.

Job Profile:

1. Carry out daily Clinical rounds

2. Collect, analyze and interpret infection-control data

3. Check correctness of Quality indicators at each unit on regular basis

4. Monitor possible infection outbreaks

5. Implement and maintain plans and procedures for infection control measures at various units

6. Identify and initiates isolation protocols

7. Educate individual and groups about the risk, prevention, transmission, and control of infection, disease-specific care, appropriate precautions, and appropriate assessments

8. Inform notifiable diseases to Medical Records Department.

9. Analyze data and present to HICC meet on monthly basis

10. Audit the correctness of various checklist and bundles

11. Adhere to the surveillance as per the hospital protocols

12. Train staff on Infection Control measures

13. Compliance to Pre and Post prophylaxis vaccination

14. Maintain Bio-medical waste management and hand wash audit and spread awareness among peer group.
