Job Description
- Creating detailed project plans, defining timelines, milestones, and assigning tasks to team members, including engineers, technicians, and production personnel. Should be proficient with Gantt charts, Network diagrams, WBS, etc.
- Technical Oversight: Ensuring the technical feasibility of designs, reviewing component selection, and managing the design process to meet product specifications during the NPI stage.
- Quality Control: Ensure adequate quality control measures throughout the manufacturing process to guarantee product reliability and adherence to industry standards.
- Risk Management: Identifying potential revenue and project risks, developing mitigation strategies, and proactively addressing issues to minimize disruptions in sales.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Maintaining open communication with all stakeholders, including engineering teams, production teams, customers, and senior management. Acting as the single point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders.
- Cost Management: Tracking project expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and managing the budget to ensure project profitability. Providing the budget forecast for every quarter to the financial controller and ensuring project profitability.
- Team Leadership: Motivating and guiding the project team, fostering collaboration, and resolving conflicts to achieve project goals and revenue targets.
- Production Monitoring: Overseeing the manufacturing process, identifying production bottlenecks, and implementing corrective actions to maintain production schedules. Escalating identified risks impacting revenue to the leadership team and finding solutions to avoid any loss.
- Testing and Validation: Coordinating product testing and validation procedures to ensure products meet functional requirements and quality standards.
- Product Launch Support: Assisting with product launch activities, including documentation, training, and market readiness.
- Project Management Skills: Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and budget control.
- Leadership Abilities: Excellent communication, team-building, and decision-making skills to effectively lead cross-functional teams.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions to overcome challenges.
- Technical Expertise (Added Advantage): Strong understanding of electronics design principles, manufacturing processes, and industry standards in automotive, medical, telecom, defense, and aerospace.
- Quality Focus: Commitment to delivering high-quality products and adhering to quality standards.
- Oversee and manage projects from initial development through EOL (End of Life) of the program, acting as the single point of contact for customers and internal management.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Identify risks related to quality, cost, and delivery, and provide mitigation plans.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
- Manage project documentation and ensure all project records are up to date.
- Collaborate with sales teams to align project goals with business objectives.
- Ensure all projected revenue is met and work with customers to increase sales.
- Oversee the Profit & Loss (P&L) of the program, ensuring financial targets are achieved.
- Bachelor s degree in engineering or business administration.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the electronic manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in managing projects from development to EOL.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in sales and managing P&L of programs.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of electronic products and manufacturing processes (added advantage).
- PMP or equivalent project management certification, Lean and Six Sigma methodologies (added advantage).
