Assistant Manager - Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)

Job Description:

We are looking for a capable and experienced Assistant Manager to handle solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects. The candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project, including internal and external communications, cost control, team handling, and stakeholder management. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of solar and BESS projects, along with hands-on experience in Owner's Engineering, Lenders Engineering, EYA (Electrical Yield Assessment), and project management.

Role & responsibilities:

• Manage Solar, Wind, and BESS Projects: Oversee and execute solar, wind, and energy storage projects, ensuring they meet deadlines and budget requirements.
• Owners Engineering & Lenders Engineering: Handle Owner’s Engineering tasks (Review of Design Documents), Detailed Engineering Design, and manage Lender Engineering projects, ensuring compliance with all necessary standards.
• Cost Control and Project Management: Ensure effective cost control, resource planning, and project management. Lead and manage project teams, ensuring timely delivery.
• Solar Power Plant Design Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of solar power plant designing concepts, both DC side and AC side, including EYA (Electrical Yield Assessment).
• Techno-Commercial Feasibility Studies: Independently prepare Techno-commercial feasibility studies, Detailed Project Reports (DPR), and resource assessments for solar, wind, and BESS projects.
• Standards and Guidelines: Ensure adherence to relevant standards and guidelines like IS, IEC, IEEE, CEA, CERC, and MNRE.
• Energy Storage Sizing Studies: Provide expertise on energy storage systems and conduct sizing studies for various use cases.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main point of contact for all project-related communications, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders, clients, and team members.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline. A Master’s degree will be preferred.
• 5 to 8 years of experience working in solar, wind, and BESS projects.
• Expertise in solar power plant design, particularly in DC and AC side design, and Electrical Yield Assessment (EYA).
• Proficiency in Lender’s Engineering, techno-commercial feasibility studies, and managing project reports.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as IS, IEC, IEEE, and guidelines from CEA, CERC, MNRE.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze data and use Excel spreadsheets and macros effectively for analysis and reporting.
