Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Digitisation to lead and oversee the entire digitisation strategy and implementation in our manufacturing company. This leadership role will be responsible for driving the digital transformation of our manufacturing processes, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to improve productivity, streamline operations, enhance product quality, and deliver business outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess both strategic foresight and hands-on experience in digital manufacturing technologies, data analytics, and process automation.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Digitisation Roadmap:
- Develop and lead the digital transformation strategy for the manufacturing organization to ensure alignment with overall business goals.
- Define and prioritize digitisation initiatives, ensuring they contribute to business growth, operational efficiency, and sustainability.
- Drive the adoption of emerging technologies such as IoT, AI, Machine Learning, Robotics, and Big Data Analytics to create a smarter, more efficient manufacturing ecosystem.
- Provide leadership and direction for the team responsible for implementing and maintaining digital solutions.
Innovation & Process Automation:
- Identify opportunities for process automation and digitisation to reduce manual intervention, increase production throughput, and improve product quality.
- Oversee the development and implementation of predictive maintenance, supply chain optimisation, and real-time monitoring solutions.
Digital Transformation Project Management:
- Own and manage large-scale digitisation projects from inception through execution, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Establish clear goals, timelines, and KPIs for all digitisation projects and regularly report progress to senior management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, IT, engineering, and external vendors) to ensure seamless project implementation and integration.
Data Management & Analytics:
- Lead the collection, analysis, and visualization of data from manufacturing systems to inform decision making and continuous improvement efforts.
- Implement data-driven decision-making processes through the development of dashboards, KPIs, and advanced analytics tools.
- Champion the use of real-time data for optimizing production efficiency, inventory management, quality control, and resource allocation.
Technology Selection & Integration:
- Oversee the selection, deployment, and integration of digital technologies such as ERP, cloud platforms, AI ML and IoT devices across the company.
- Ensure seamless integration between digital solutions and existing legacy systems, ensuring data flow and operational coherence.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and evaluate their potential application to improve manufacturing operations and drive innovation.
Team Development & Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing digitisation team with a focus on innovation, continuous learning, and collaborative success.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the manufacturing and IT teams.
- Provide training, coaching, and skill development for employees to ensure they can effectively adopt and leverage new technologies.
Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Drive the change management process to ensure smooth adoption of digital technologies across the Organization.
- Work closely with key stakeholders (operations, IT, engineering, HR, and executive leadership) to ensure alignment of digitisation goals with business objectives.
- Develop and deliver presentations and reports to senior management on the progress, impact, and results of digitisation initiatives.
Continuous Improvement & Optimization:
- Lead continuous improvement efforts by utilizing digital tools to analyse performance gaps and improve manufacturing processes.
- Promote the use of lean principles, Six Sigma, and other methodologies in conjunction with digital solutions to eliminate waste and optimize efficiency.
- Regularly assess the performance of digitisation initiatives, driving corrective actions and refinements as needed.
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Ensure all digitisation initiatives comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Identify potential risks related to data security, system downtime, and technology adoption and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure that the digital transformation process does not compromise product quality, safety standards, or environmental regulations.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Overall 15+ years of experience with strong experience in manufacturing digitisation, digital transformation, or process automation, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing and executing large-scale digital transformation projects in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with Industry relevant technologies (IoT, robotics, AI, machine learning, etc.), ERP systems, cloud platforms, and data analytics tools.
Leadership & Management Skills:
- Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams across operations, IT, engineering, and external partners.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance technology solutions with business objectives and operational requirements.
- Experience in budgeting, resource allocation, and managing high volume project
