The (Senior) Legal Counsel NCA-IN will provide legal support to thyssenkrupp nucera India Private Limited in Mumbai, India and report directly to the Corporate Function Legal & Compliance at thyssenkrupp nucera AG & Co. KGaA in Dortmund, Germany. As a member of the global Legal & Compliance function, the (Senior) Legal Counsel NCA-IN will collaborate closely with project teams and group functions in a highly integrated and cross-functional way.
The (Senior) Legal Counsel NCA-IN serves the growing thyssenkrupp nucera business in the South Asia region in all legal and compliance matters and provides practical and balanced legal advice to thyssenkrupp nucera s business, covering matters of corporate governance and the thyssenkrupp nucera compliance program as well as the negotiation and execution of EP and EPF projects.
Your responsibilities
Act as a trusted business advisor and compliance ambassador by providing practical and balanced legal advice and establishing tools and processes in a young and fast-moving company
Integrate into project teams to negotiate and execute EP and EPF projects in the Chlor-Alkali and green hydrogen business
Coordinate with the global Legal & Compliance team
Draft, review and negotiate contracts with customers and suppliers
Lead and manage the thyssenkrupp nucera compliance program for India
Provide legal advice to the board of the company
Manage external legal counsels
Proactively establish close working relationships with regional management and other relevant stakeholders
Stay updated on any changes to relevant rules and regulations
Participate in trainings in the region and support the business in identifying training needs.
Your profile
Law graduate with experience with legal and regulatory compliance frameworks and customs in India, educational stages in Australia, Canada, Europe (including the United Kingdom) or the United States of America are a plus
5+ years of experience in handling legal aspects, preferably in the plant engineering business or in-house legal counsel or international law firm roles
Experience in international project contracting and tendering processes
Knowledge in antitrust, anti-corruption compliance and export control/sanctions law, experience in data protection or anti-money laundering is a plus
Ability to work independently with strong negotiating skills and assertiveness
Excellent English language skills (both written and spoken)
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Proven ability to build collaborative partnerships at all levels of a highly-matrixed global organization
Self-starter, ability to work independently with balanced personality and strong commitment to working in a cross-cultural team environment.
Strong communication, organization and analytic skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
