Senior Operations Research Scientist - Mathematical Modeling (3-10 yrs)

Responsibilities :

- Model Development : Create and refine optimization models to address a wide range of business challenges, including supply chain optimization, logistics, scheduling, and resource allocation.

- Algorithm Design : Design and implement efficient algorithms and heuristics to solve complex optimization problems, leveraging techniques such as linear programming, integer programming, and metaheuristics.

- Proof-of-Concept Studies : Conduct thorough proof-of-concept studies to evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility of proposed solutions.

- Implementation : Collaborate with development teams to ensure the seamless integration of algorithms into production systems.

- Performance Analysis : Monitor and analyze the performance of implemented solutions to identify optimization opportunities and fine-tune models.

- Client Interaction : Engage with clients to understand their specific needs and translate business requirements into technical specifications.

- End-User Communication : Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including explaining model behavior, outputs, and calibration parameters.

- Algorithm Documentation : Clearly document algorithms, including model formulations, solution methodologies, and implementation details.

- Programming : Develop and maintain efficient code in Python or other object-oriented programming languages to implement algorithms and conduct simulations.

Requirements :

- Education : Masters or Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.

- Experience : 3-10 years of hands-on experience in applying operations research techniques to solve real-world problems.

Technical Skills :

- Strong proficiency in mathematical modeling and optimization techniques (linear programming, integer programming, nonlinear programming, stochastic optimization, etc.)

- Expertise in programming languages, particularly Python or C#

- Familiarity with modeling and simulation tools (e.g., Gurobi, CPLEX, AMPL, SimPy, AnyLogic)

- Knowledge of statistical analysis and data mining techniques

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
