Job Description
As a Menswear/Streetwear designer, you ll be responsible for conceptualizing and designing a cutting-edge collection for streetwear apparel. Your keen understanding of urban trends, strong garment construction skills, and ability to innovate will ensure our clients collections stay relevant and ahead of the curve.
- Conduct market research to identify current trends, fabrics, and techniques in the streetwear industry, drawing design inspiration from various sources.
- Define and understand brand identity and customer preferences to create on-trend collections.
- Develop ideas for product innovation and re-engineering, keeping practicality and style at the forefront.
- Translate seasonal fashion directions and key streetwear trends into well-assorted merchandise ranges.
- Conceptualize and develop a streetwear range that aligns with brand ethos and pricing strategies, ensuring timely execution.
- Collaborate with product development and technical teams (vendors/mills) to bring new ideas in fits, fabric innovation, textures, prints, and trims.
- Prepare and present mood boards for seasonal collections.
- Create line sheets and design packs, ensuring all designs meet the brands expectations.
- Participate in fit sessions, production approvals, and ensure that the final products meet design standards.
- Assist with GTM presentations by ensuring samples and accurate information are readily available.
- Stay up-to-date with streetwear fashion movements and identify opportunities for creative process improvements.
Qualifications Skills :
- 10+ years of experience in menswear/streetwear design for top global brands or labels, specializing in urban, casual, or contemporary streetwear.
- Degree in fashion or apparel design from prestigious institutions like NIFT, NID, or an equivalent.
- Strong expertise in garment construction, fabrics, and design, with a sharp eye for streetwear trends and silhouettes.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; experience with 3D design tools like CLO3D is a plus.
- Comprehensive knowledge of production processes, fabric sourcing, garment construction, and costing.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to work with cross-functional teams, including product development and merchandising.
