Job Description
- +12 years experience in a broad range of Mine Engineering
- Strategic and innovative approach to problem solving and ability to define critical value drivers (cost and revenue) in an operation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation.
- Experience on mine planning tools is preferred.
- Thiess global best practice knowledge and experience
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Reasonable understanding of the technologies currently implemented within Thiess.
- Understanding the key value drivers for current and new mining operations
- Knowledge of current and emerging mining technologies and concepts.
UNIQUE ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to analyse each mining operation as a system (regardless of complexity) and determine the critical value drivers and devise a strategy which maximises return from both a Thiess and a Client (where possible) perspective. Ability to apply this analysis across the business concurrently.
- Domestic and International travel may be required.
- Undertake visits to projects and engagement with project technical staff.
- Formal Education - Tertiary qualified in a relevant technical discipline (BE-B.Tech in Mining Engineering)
