Job Description
- As a PGT (English), you will play a vital role in educating students and fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of the English language and literature
- You will be responsible for delivering high-quality English instruction, developing engaging lesson plans, and evaluating students' progress
- Responsibilities:Teaching: Plan, prepare, and deliver English lessons that cover various aspects of the language, including grammar, vocabulary, literature, and writing
- Curriculum Development: Develop and maintain a well-structured English curriculum that aligns with academic standards and educational goals
- Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students can actively engage in the learning process
- Assessment: Evaluate and assess students' performance through assignments, tests, and other forms of assessment
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve
- Individualized Support: Offer additional support to students who need help in mastering English skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening
- Literature Exploration: Introduce students to various literary genres, authors, and texts, encouraging critical analysis and interpretation
- Cultural Understanding: Promote an understanding of English-speaking cultures and their influence on literature and language
- Technology Integration: Use technology and multimedia resources to enhance teaching and engage students in the learning process
- Parent and Teacher Communication: Maintain open communication with parents or guardians to provide feedback on student progress and address any concerns
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in English teaching, attend professional development opportunities, and continually update your teaching methods
- Extracurricular Involvement: Participate in or lead extracurricular activities related to English, such as literary clubs or writing competitions
- Safety and Discipline: Ensure the safety and well-being of students and enforce school rules and discipline policies
