Design and Development Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

Design and Development (60%):

• Conceptualize and design new products, considering factors like functionality, aesthetics, manufacturability, and cost.
• Develop detailed CAD / solidworks designs, prototypes, and testing plans.
• To create Product File as per ISO which includes creation of design development file, including BOM file, design drawing files, manufacturing flow chart, process implementation & product transfer file

Product Testing and Validation (20%):

• Develop and execute testing protocols to validate product performance including PFMEA (Process
• Failure Mode & effects Analysis).
• Conduct functional, durability, and usability testing & create measurement system analysis (MSA)
• Analyse test results, identify issues, and implement design improvements.
• Verify design based of design guidelines set up
• Set up product control plan
• Create the installed capacity chart, product wise, stage wise

Project Management (10%):

• Manage project timelines, milestones, and resource allocation with knowledge about Gantt chart
• Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry regulations.

Collaboration and Communication (10%):

• Work closely with cross-functional teams (marketing, sales, and manufacturing).
• Communicate design concepts, progress, and changes to stakeholders.
• Provide technical support for sales and customer service teams.
• They will liaise with factory manager and production head
• They will manage the process of turning designs into reality
• They will be accountable for:
• To design new engineering products
• Design to be cost effective
• Modify existing products or designs
• Knowledge of vendor handling

Requirements:

• Bachelor in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or Diploma holder or related field
• 3 5 years of experience in Design in a manufacturing environment
• Proven track record of successful product launches.
• Must have the ability to handle a shop floor team (Fitters, Turners, Skilled Workers etc) by creating a Fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• To be collaborative and have an open-door policy
• To have flexible work arrangements and be a multitasker
• Daily reporting to HOD

Skills:

• To Document all the work done
• Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo etc).
• Strong understanding of design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills both written and verbal.
• Experience with design-for-manufacturability, design-for-assembly, and lean manufacturing

principles.

• Have good commercial awareness.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., ISO) CE, FDA (Food and Drug, preferably a plus)
• Good coordinating skills with production, QC, Stores needed
• Strong Mathematics and Statistical Skills required
• Advantageous to have:
• Experience with 3D printing, simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD) is a plus
• Knowledge of user-centered design principles.
• Certification in design or engineering (e.g., CE, PE).
