Job Summary Maker Space is part of the curriculum for Grades V to VIII, and Design Technology as an optional elective subject is offered at the As level for Grades XI and XII. After Grade VIII, students are encouraged to work on projects of their choice and interest independently, on their own time, and be supported by the Maker Space Team whenever required. The curriculum is designed to explore and develop students budding design and engineering capabilities. Students work on projects and constructions under supervision and guidance, and appreciate the fundamentals of design and dynamics. There is a set progressive curriculum from Grades V to VIII, where students first start working with paper and stop-motion, and then cardboard. The curriculum progresses through different types of pliable and non-pliable materials, mechanics and wood and electricity.
Key Responsibilities
The Maker Space is a CoE (Centre of Excellence). Each Maker Space Executive or Assistant works with a specific Grade or set of Grades, such as V and VI, or VII and VIII, or on a specific technology or platform or part of Maker Space. All Maker Space Assistants report to the CoE-Stream Head for Maker Space, who in turn reports to the Head-CoE who represents Maker Space among things, on the Management Team.
