Currently seeking for an executive pastry chef /Head Chef for an international fine dine ice cream chain which is committed to delivering exquisite culinary experiences. The person will lead our Ice cream & pastry department, create innovative dessert offerings, and uphold our reputation for excellence.
Qualifications

  1. Formal Education:
    • Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Pastry, or Baking from a reputed culinary school
    • Advanced certifications in pastry arts, such as Certified Master Pastry Chef (CMPC) or similar, will be an added advantage
  2. Specialized Training:
    • Expertise in chocolate work, sugar art, cake decorating, or artisanal bread-making.
    • Familiarity with dietary trends (e.g., vegan, gluten-free, or low-sugar pastries).
  3. Food Safety Certification:
    • Certified in food safety and hygiene (e.g., ServSafe, HACCP).


Experience

  1. Professional Kitchen Experience:
    • At least 8-10 years in pastry, with progressive roles leading to management.
    • Experience in luxury hotels, fine dining establishments, or high-end bakeries.
  2. Leadership Roles:
    • Previous experience as a Head Pastry Chef or Sous Chef in a pastry-focused kitchen.
    • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, delegate tasks, and maintain high morale.
  3. Menu Development:
    • Track record of creating innovative dessert menus that align with current culinary trends.
    • Experience customizing desserts for different themes or cuisines.
  4. Operational Expertise:
    • Knowledge of cost control, inventory management, and procurement.
    • Ability to manage production schedules and maintain consistency under pressure.
  5. Event and High-Volume Experience:
    • Experience catering for events, weddings, or large-scale operations.
    • Ability to handle high-pressure situations without compromising quality.
  6. Adaptability:
    • Exposure to international cuisines and techniques.
    • Creativity in adapting to diverse customer preferences and dietary restrictions.

  • Oversee kitchen operations, including scheduling, inventory control, and cost management.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and execute large-scale events, weddings, and special functions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends to introduce innovative techniques and flavors.
