Role Accountabilities
Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies based on business requirements.
Define backup policies, schedules, and retention periods in accordance with Syngene compliance requirements.
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of backup infrastructure. Manage backup servers, storage, and related technologies.
Monitor and execute routine backup and recovery operations. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to backup failures or data restoration.
Ensure the security and confidentiality of backup data. Implement encryption and other security measures for stored backups.
Lead and mentor a team of backup administrators.
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure a comprehensive recovery strategy.
Lead the testing of disaster recovery plans. Ensures availability of data securely in primary, DR, and offsite locations.
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company policies. Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation

Specific requirements for this role

1. Experience: 8- 12 Yrs. experience in Backup/Restoration Platform (Commvault / Rubrik / Veritas and VEEAM Backup) with Windows Server Administration
2. Education: Bachelor Graduate in Computer Science with strong knowledge in Backup/Restoration Platforms.

Skills and Capabilities
Experience in Commvault upgrades, Service Pack and Hotfix deployment
Experience in managing the CommServe Software Cache and Remote Caches
Produce regular reports for management to assist in cost recovery, capacity planning and consolidation
Plan for Media rotation, Management and Offsite Movement Scheduling of New Backups/ Modify existing Jobs
Expert in NAS Backup configurations and Backup troubleshooting and Restorations.
Perform Periodical Image Restorations by Using VMWare Applications.
Expert in Configure Endpoint Backups (Laptops, Desktops, Instrument Connected Systems) and Restorations.
Perform Bare metal Image Restorations on workstations from system state backup.
Handle backup failures, issues related to Commvault Catalog databases, Storage Units, Policies, De-Duplication etc.
Knowledgeable in Commvault auditing, command line operations, logging, and reporting features
Thorough understanding of Commvault policy-drive backup/restore architecture and best practices required
