Synez Technologies - Cloud Development Platform Lead - Kubernetes (7-10 yrs)

Role Overview :

We are seeking a Cloud Development Platform (CDP) Development Lead with a strong engineering background, specifically in Cloud Development, Kubernetes, Kafka, and DevOps practices.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of service assurance, log collection tools, and the ability to design and maintain large-scale, robust cloud-native systems.

This role involves leading the development and operational efforts for our cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities :

Cloud Development Engineering :

- Lead the design, development, and deployment of cloud-native solutions.

- Utilize open-stack technologies to build, manage, and scale cloud infrastructure.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cloud engineering practices in line with organizational objectives.

Kubernetes DevOps Engineering :

- Manage and orchestrate Kubernetes clusters for various environments.

- Implement containerization strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment frameworks.

- Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability in Kubernetes-managed systems.

Service Assurance Domain :

- Develop and implement monitoring and service assurance strategies to ensure system reliability.

- Leverage industry best practices to create comprehensive incident management and resolution processes.

- Ensure that service-level objectives (SLOs) and service-level agreements (SLAs) are met and adhered to.

Log Collection Tools and Technologies :

- Implement and maintain log collection frameworks using tools such as Beats, Elastic Agent, Logstash, etc.

- Design solutions for real-time monitoring, log aggregation, and analysis to ensure end-to-end visibility into system performance.

- Ensure the availability of logs and system metrics to support operational insights and debugging processes.

Kafka Engineering :

- Design, deploy, and maintain Apache Kafka clusters for large-scale distributed systems.

- Develop strategies for scaling Kafka services to accommodate growing data volumes and high-throughput applications.

- Ensure Kafka systems are reliable, performant, and resilient to failures, with appropriate disaster recovery plans.

DevOps Engineering :

- Lead the adoption of DevOps best practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automated testing.

- Collaborate with development teams to create a seamless deployment pipeline, ensuring code quality and operational efficiency.

- Optimize systems for performance, reliability, and cost, using monitoring, logging, and configuration management tools.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).

- 7+ years of experience in cloud development, DevOps, and related domains.

- Proficiency in Cloud Development : Experience with OpenStack or equivalent cloud platforms.

- Kubernetes Expertise : Strong understanding of Kubernetes, container orchestration, and DevOps pipelines.

- Kafka Knowledge : Deep understanding of Kafka architecture, with hands-on experience in deploying, maintaining, and scaling Kafka clusters.

- Log Collection Tools : Experience with log collection frameworks such as Beats, Elastic Agent, Logstash, and other monitoring tools.

- Service Assurance : Familiarity with service assurance processes, SLOs, and incident management practices.

- Solid understanding of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, etc.) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).

- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Certification in Kubernetes, Kafka, or other cloud platforms.

- Experience in working within an agile environment.

- Understanding of security best practices for cloud infrastructure.

- Experience in using AI/ML for log analysis and anomaly detection in large-scale systems.
