Formulation Scientist

Role & responsibilities

• Lead and manage the formulation and development team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

• Develop and execute the strategic vision for formulation and development aligned with overall company goals.

• Mentor and train team members to enhance skills and professional growth.

• Literature, Pharmacopeia and patent search, review, discussion and documentation.

• Execution of pre-formulation and trial batches for formulation development.

• Design of experiments and optimize the formulation development.

• Preparation of new SOP's and JSA and revision of existing SOP's.

• Preparation of MMD,BOM,EPO and coordinating with documentation officer.

• Coordination with other departments such as AD, RA, QA, Production QC, Purchase and Location for smooth execution of products.

• Pre-formulation study & Drug- Excipients Compatibility study.

• Responsible for overseeing formulation development of new non-infringing formulations, process development, scale-up and manufacturing support for the same.

• Patent analysis and preparation of formulation strategy for Non- infringing formula.

• Prepare batch records, stability protocol, Product development Report (PDR), Quality Overall Summary (QOS), Scale-up protocol, Technology Transfer protocols and Master Formula Card (MFC).

• Checking in-process parameters during product development.

• Ensure thorough documentation of all development processes, including formulation protocols and stability studies.

Preferred candidate profile

• Masters or PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field.

• More than 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation and development, preferably in a managerial role..

• Strong knowledge of various dosage forms (oral, injectable, topical) and their formulation challenges.

• Experience with regulatory submissions.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong leadership and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
