Sr Backup Engineer

Job Description :

This position is responsible for helping maintain the uptime and stability of company s Data Center Operation and Server Infrastructure.
This position is also responsible for helping maintain the defined Service Levels Agreements and Operational Level Agreements within organization.

This person primary responsibility will be to work with the Security/Monitoring team, SAN Operations team and the Server Operations teams to administrate, implement, and troubleshoot the company server environments.
The Engineer will also make recommendations for improving and stabilizing the Data Centers, SAN and Server environments, as well as maintaining and creating documentation.
The position will also assist with strategic projects supporting the business goals company.

Responsibilities
Provide Technical Support for Projects and Strategic Backup Initiatives
Provide Backup and Recovery of Servers & Data bases
Support and Administer Backups software (Like CommVault, NetBackup, Avamar, Networker, etc.)
Develop and Maintain technical relationships with company application development teams
Install, Setup Operating System and Backup Applications
Participate with Incident Management process and troubleshooting problems
Participate in the on-call rotation for maintenance responsibilities
Mentor staff and associate level team members

Skills
Proficient with Enterprise Server Environments
Proficient with Microsoft Windows / Linux Technologies
Familiar with backup tools like CommVault, NetBackup, Avamar, Networker, etc.)
Knowledge on Tape libraries like HP LTO 6
Familiar with ISILON and Data Domain
Ability to manage remote environments
Ability to effectively manage timelines and prioritize tasks with varying deadlines
Ability to read and translate requirements from documentation
Strong customer service skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Working experience on Server hardening
Minimum of (5) years of experience in Technology/IT
5 Years of experience with medium to larger IT environments 1000 + servers
5 Years of experience with Experience in Tape Libraries (HP, Quantum, etc)
Experience monitoring and troubleshooting Backups
Knowledge on Tape Libraries Hardware.
