.Net Developer - C# Programming (3-6 yrs)

Job Summary :

We are looking for a .Net Developer with a strong interest in gearing and software development.

The candidate should have the ability to collaborate with our mechanical engineers, metallurgists, and test lab to understand design technology and convert it into computer programs that will be used by our design team and manufacturing operations.

This includes the development of computer programs that use statics, dynamics, strength of materials, thermodynamics for machine design and manufacturing of gearing and gear drives.

We have a large library of software containing Engineering methods that must be enhanced and maintained to both revised design rules and operating systems. This includes integrating existing programs with updated user interfaces, and SQL database technology as well as interaction with our CAD and ERP systems.

The existing code structure and language may need to be maintained and complete rewrites into state of art structure and languages may not be possible.

Job Description :

The position involves participation in the following activities :

- Learning product development methodology and automating them with software. The primary programming languages are VB.NET, C#, Office VBA, and FORTRAN.

- Maintaining and updating existing programs to contemporary design rules and operating systems.

- Documenting existing programs from the standpoint of user guides and programmer documentation.

- Creating and maintaining databases to store engineering data for components (SQL).

- Combining internal software expert systems with product design software (primarily SolidWorks and DDM).

- Training and support coaching others in the use of our proprietary engineering and commercial design software.

Applicant should possess the following :

1. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

2. 2 years of experience with applied engineering in industrial applications, gear design a plus

3. 1 year of experience with scientific computer programming, writing new and maintaining existing programs

4. Able to read and maintain programs in FORTRAN and .NET.

5. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

6. Works well in a multidiscipline environment and coordinates tasks with peers.

7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and its automation.

8. Experience in developing and maintaining project plans and timelines for software development.

9. Ability to manage multiple projects and stay on track for required completion dates
