Key Responsibilities:. Sustainability Strategy & Implementation:. Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive sustainability strategies aligned with the companys goals and regulatory requirements
Lead initiatives to reduce the environmental footprint of the company's operations, including energy efficiency, waste management, and resource conservation
Compliance & Regulatory Affairs:. Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and standards, including Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and national environmental laws and regulations
Develop and submit required environmental reports and documentation to regulatory bodies
Stakeholder Engagement:. Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, including the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs)
Engage with industry associations like AARC, NGOs, and other stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives and policies
Represent the company in sustainability-related forums, conferences, and meetings
Work with global team for implementation of various initiatives and work towards global sustainability goals
EPR Compliance and Waste Management:.
Develop and oversee EPR programs for the SIGs products, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to implement effective waste management and recycling programs
Monitor and report on EPR compliance performance and progress
Oversee all local compliances from the freedom to operate for carton plant
Sustainability Reporting and Communication:. Prepare and present sustainability reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and future plans
Communicate sustainability initiatives and progress to internal and external stakeholders, including employees, customers, and investors
Promote sustainability awareness and best practices within the organization
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:. Identify and implement innovative sustainability practices and technologies to enhance the companys environmental performance
Monitor industry trends and developments to ensure the company remains at the forefront of sustainability practices.
. Qualifications:. Bachelors or Masters degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field
10-15 years of experience in sustainability management, with a strong focus on compliance with EPR laws
Extensive knowledge of Indian environmental regulations, including EPR and waste management laws
Established contacts with regulatory authorities such as the CPCB and SPCBs
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sustainability strategies and programs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:. Experience in the FMCG sector
Certification in sustainability or environmental management (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001)
