SupportFly is seeking a cloudops engineer to manage the global Linux infrastructure for our Database development environment . This position requires wide and overall knowledge in Linux administration, patching, virtualisation, performance analysis, performance tuning, cloud computing technologies and networking technologies. While their primary role is to support operations for the Linux/Unix and Cloud infrastructure, they will be also occasionally required to take active role in testing applications, and diagnosis of IT problems outside their scope of responsibility.
Responsibilities
Maintain Linux infrastructure for development and production in cloud and on premise data centres
Build automation using Python/Ruby/ Terraform/ Ansible
Operating system upgrades, patching and package installations
Troubleshoot complex issues and provide root cause analysis (RCA)
Works with internal Ticketing system to solve issues reported on Linux by users Works with internal teams to get compute, storage and networking services to facilitate user needs.
Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities
Provides domain-specific expertise and overall engineering leadership and perspective to cross- organisation projects, programs, and activities
Willing to learn new technologies and products
Follow up on the daily action items
Knowledge Skills
Advanced Linux administration skills with good knowledge on Kernel level debugging
Experience in Linux kernel level analysis and identifying kernel & OS bugs
Experience in debugging performance issues and performance tuning
Experience in Virtualisation technology like KVM
Exposure to cloud technologies
Experience in automation using Python/Ruby/Terraform/Ansible
Experience in performing root cause analysis
Effective communication skills via phone and email in English are mandatory.
Ability to come up with best solution by capturing big picture instead of focusing on minor details/issues.
Possess and demonstrates strong logical-thinking skill, full of intellectual curiosity and high for self-development.
Qualifications Required
2 to 3 years of experience working in IT Operations\Infrastructure team
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related areas is preferred
