IT Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Test Planning & Execution:
• Develop, document, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on software requirements and technical specifications.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, and performance tests across various platforms.
2. Defect Management:
• Identify, log, and track bugs or issues using defect-tracking tools.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution of defects.
3. Automation:
• Design and implement automated testing frameworks and scripts.
• Maintain and enhance existing test automation scripts.
4. Collaboration:
• Work closely with product managers, developers, and business analysts to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
• Provide feedback on software usability, functionality, and performance.
5. Reporting:
• Prepare detailed test reports and provide regular updates on test progress, coverage, and results.
• Analyze and summarize testing outcomes to improve future development cycles.
6. Quality Assurance Best Practices:
• Advocate and enforce QA processes and methodologies.
• Stay updated with the latest testing tools, technologies, and trends.

Required Skills & Qualifications

1. Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in manual and automated testing techniques.
• Experience with testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Postman, or similar.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git.
• Knowledge of programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, or C#).
• Understanding of API testing, database testing, and performance testing.
2. Experience:
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software testing or QA roles.
3. Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
4. Certifications (Optional but Preferred):
• ISTQB/ISEB Certified Tester.
• Certifications in specific tools or technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure DevOps).
