Assembly & Testing Manager(Compressor)

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will work with an energetic and collaborative team at Sundynes office located in Pune, India. Assembly & Testing Manager must be a motivated and organized person who is responsible for Assembly & testing planning, Optimum shop utilization, team leadership, and expertise in planning of Rotating equipment for assembly & Testing. Excellent communication and management skills with an ability to motivate and get on time product receipt from suppliers, stakeholders, manufacturing personnel and the entire project team. Ability to effectively work with international teams (Europe & US) & influence key decision makers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluating the complete assembly process for pumps, compressors.
• Daily MIS generation on assembly & Testing progress.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline assembly processes.
• Lead, train, and mentor assembly and testing technicians to achieve high productivity and skill development.
• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and production planning teams to ensure availability of components and materials.
• Manage all stages of product testing, including hydrostatic, pressure, performance, and leak tests.
• Ensure all testing protocols align with customer requirements, industry regulations (API, ISO, etc.), and safety standards.
• Analyze and resolve product malfunctions and performance issues during testing.
• Maintain comprehensive testing documentation for internal records and customer audits.
• Allocate tasks and responsibilities based on skills and production priorities.
• Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs to ensure continuous improvement.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Drive corrective and preventive actions to address recurring issues in assembly or testing processes.
• Enforce compliance with workplace safety standards and promote a safety-first culture.
• Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as assembly time, testing accuracy, and failure rates.
• Maintain and update assembly and testing documentation to ensure traceability for customer audits.

Technical/Functional Skills:

• Strong knowledge of pumps, compressors, P&ID.
• Expertise in assembly procedures, performance testing, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as API, ISO, and ASME.
• Hands-on experience with tools and equipment used in testing (e.g., flow meters, pressure gauges, vibration analysis tools).
• Proficiency in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make quick, data-driven decisions.
• Knowledge of ERP systems for production planning and tracking.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 15 to 20 years of Assembly & Testing scheduling, controlling experience in pump & compressor industry.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, and effective follow up with required stake holders.
• Working knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures used in the oil and gas, chemical or related industry.
