Entails the responsibility of performing preventative and corrective maintenance on all mechanical equipment within a confectionery production facility, including machinery like mixing, depositing, enrobing, wrapping, and packaging lines, ensuring optimal operational efficiency while adhering to strict food safety and hygiene standards Role & responsibilities

Key responsibilities may include:

• Preventative maintenance:Conducting regular inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments on all production equipment to prevent breakdowns and maintain quality.
• Troubleshooting and repairs:Diagnosing and fixing mechanical faults on machinery, including replacing worn parts, adjusting settings, and performing minor repairs.
• Breakdown response:Quickly responding to equipment malfunctions during production runs, minimizing downtime and production disruption.
• Technical knowledge:Understanding of mechanical principles, pneumatic systems, hydraulics, and electrical components used in confectionery machinery.
• Reading blueprints and schematics:Interpreting technical drawings to identify parts and perform repairs accurately.
• Compliance with food safety regulations:Adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintaining a clean working environment to ensure product safety.
• Reporting and documentation:Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
• Continuous improvement:Identifying potential improvements to equipment and processes to increase efficiency and productivity.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Mechanical aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical principles and ability to troubleshoot complex machinery.
• Technical skills: Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and basic electrical knowledge.
• Food safety training: Awareness of GMP guidelines and food hygiene practices.
• Confectionery industry experience: Prior knowledge of confectionery production processes and equipment is highly beneficial.
• Problem-solving skills: Ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Attention to detail: Ensuring accurate and thorough maintenance tasks are completed.
