Job Description
- We are seeking an experienced and competent maritime professional to join our team as a Chief Officer
- The Chief Officer will play a key role in overseeing the safe navigation and overall operation of the vessel, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations, and leading a team of deck officers and crew members
- Responsibilities:Navigation and Watchkeeping:Assume overall responsibility for the safe navigation of the vessel during assigned watches
- Ensure adherence to navigational procedures and international regulations
- Safety and Emergency Response:Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures in accordance with maritime regulations
- Lead emergency response drills and activities
- Team Leadership:Provide effective leadership to the deck department, including training and mentoring junior officers and crew
- Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and collaboration
- Cargo Operations:Supervise and coordinate cargo loading and unloading operations
- Ensure proper stowage and securing of cargo in compliance with industry standards
- Documentation and Record Keeping:Maintain accurate navigational records and logs
- Prepare reports and documentation related to vessel operations
- Communication:Maintain clear and effective communication with the Captain, crew members, and relevant shore-based personnel
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless vessel operations
- Security:Implement security measures in accordance with international maritime security protocols
- Conduct regular security drills
- Qualifications:Valid STCW II/2 Chief Mate (Unlimited) certification
- Proven experience as Chief Officer or equivalent on a similar vessel
- Proficiency in the use of navigational and communication equipment
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
