Country Medical Director - Biopharmaceutical Industry (18-25 yrs)

THE OPPORTUNITY: The Country Medical Director (CMD) is the Senior Medical Leader in India and serves as the head of the medical affairs organization for the country.

Location: Mumbai, India

The position would be based out of Mumbai Location, BKC and will report to an Executive Director who is based in Singapore

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

- The CMD serves as the primary country-level contact for Medical Affairs (MA), with key responsibilities including:

- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the Medical Affairs strategy for the country, balancing global and local priorities.

- Team Development: Build a high-performing, compliant medical team through proactive management and talent development.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Represent Medical Affairs on the Country Leadership Team and in collaborations with other business functions, ensuring the medical value of products is communicated effectively.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the company's external representative in activities requiring the country's senior medical expertise.

Responsibilities and Primary Activities:

- Leadership and Management of the Medical Affairs Organization:

- Talent Management: Proactively manage and develop talent, address emerging needs through staff training and recruitment.

- Culture Building: Foster a compliant, innovative work environment focused on quality.

Country Medical Affairs Plans (CMAPs):

- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute CMAPs aligned with global strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance.

- Local Data Generation: Manage the execution of locally developed data generation activities.

Medical Affairs Management:

- Medical Information: Oversee medical information teams, ensuring timely responses to healthcare professional inquiries.

- Budget Oversight: Manage the operational budget and lifecycle management costs.

Collaboration with Key Internal Stakeholders:

- Cross-Functional Teams: Represent Medical Affairs in country leadership teams, advocating for the interests of the country to regional and global colleagues.

- Support Global Clinical Development: Collaborate with teams to manage investigator-initiated studies and Compassionate Use Requests.

Engagement with Key External Stakeholders:

- Scientific Leadership: Act as the company's executive leader and scientific expert in the external community.

- Stakeholder Relations: Build a network of key scientific leaders, gather insights from healthcare providers, and collaborate with policymakers and payers to ensure the medical community has the information they need to support patient care.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

Education: MD or equivalent degree.

Experience: Extensive experience in biopharmaceutical clinical development and/or medical affairs, with a proven track record of success.

Leadership: Demonstrated people-management experience, with strong organizational and budget management skills.

Therapeutic Expertise: Deep understanding of relevant therapeutic areas, such as oncology, infectious diseases, vaccines, or specialty care.
