Network Administrator (L3)

Role & responsibilities

• Problem determination and resolution within SLA's
• High quality of all deliverables ( Clean and detailed design documents, RCAs, trackers etc)
• Troubleshooting tasks with proper perspective
• Keep the Shift Lead /Network lead informed of task accomplishment, issues and status
• Acquire new skills & keep updated
• Self-driven and taking up ownership of tasks
• Resolve Day to day Operational issues, Incidents and Service requests and Project tasks
• Respond and resolve escalated incidents, problems or outages and accurately report and document solutions
• Lead and own, complex major technical issues resolution, in collaboration with various groups 24*7 on demand.
• Able to troubleshoot complex Network issues independently
• Troubleshoot network issues using various tools and methodologies, e.g. Log analysis, alert analysis
• Review and Publish various Availability and Capacity analysis reports for the NW infrastructure
• Use the available monitoring tools during the maintenance activities (scheduled or unscheduled) to suppress the alerts, collect information for troubleshooting
• Create, review, update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
• Assist and contribute in proper designing, planning and documentation.
• Firmware or OS upgrade and patching of related networking devices
• Identify and implement Service Improvement Plans
• Prepare root cause analysis report
• Train and mentor the peers and juniors in the team.
• Validate the quality of work performed by peers and juniors in the team
• Review the Shift handovers between L2 Engineers
• Being part of the technical team during CAB reviews, Projects and Incidents
• Co-ordinate with various teams such as monitoring, backup, windows and linux to ensure proper functioning of all servers and its services

Preferred candidate profile

Must-have Skills:

Must have good hands-on experience in configuration and troubleshooting in at least three of following areas

Function, Vendor, Security, Firewalls, Palo Alto Networks (PAN) OR FortiGate OR Meraki

Routing, OSPF, BGP,NA, Switching, VLAN, VTP, Trunk, Ether channel, Cisco or Meraki

Wireless-Meraki or Aruba

Good-to-have-skills

• Cisco certifications (CCNA or CCNP) or Palo Alto certifications (e.g. PCNSE) are preferred
• Experience in other technologies that network touches, e.g. AWS or Azure cloud, on-prem setup, authentication, security, etc.
• Experience with network monitoring tool Logic monitor OR solarwinds OR Netflow
• Prior experience working at Managed Services/IT Services Company is preferred, and a background in dealing with global teams and remote teams will be a strong plus.
