Foundry Costing Manager or Cost Controller

Role & responsibilities

Professional will be responsible for managing and monitoring all costs associated with the production of metal castings in a foundry, including raw materials, labor, overhead expenses, and ensuring that production processes are optimized to maintain profitability by minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency across all stages of the metal casting process.

• Cost tracking and analysis:

Continuously monitor and analyze costs across the entire production process, including melting, molding, pouring, finishing, and quality control, to identify areas for cost reduction.

• Standard cost setting:

Develop and maintain standard cost estimates for each product based on historical data and current market prices to benchmark performance against actual costs.

• Inventory management:

Oversee the inventory of raw materials, ensuring optimal stock levels to minimize carrying costs while preventing production disruptions due to shortages.

• Variance analysis:

Investigate and explain significant deviations from standard costs, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

• Reporting and budgeting:

Generate regular reports on production costs, including cost breakdowns by department, to inform management decision-making and budget planning.

• Strong analytical skills:

Ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions to inform cost control strategies.

• Manufacturing knowledge:

Deep understanding of the metal casting process, including different casting methods, raw materials, and equipment involved.

• Cost accounting Expertise:

Proficiency in cost accounting principles and techniques to accurately calculate production costs.

• Statistical analysis Skills:

Ability to utilize statistical tools to analyze process variability and identify areas for improvement.

• Communication skills:

Effective communication with production teams, management, and other departments to share cost information and implement changes.

Preferred candidate profile

- Candidate Must have experience in product cost, Manufacturing Cost,

- Worked on DISA Vertical Molding Line, ARPA Molding line, Shell Molding & LFC product costing will be added advantage
