Electronics Purchase Engineer (Kattankulathur)

Electronics Purchase: he SMT Components Purchasing and Proposal Specialist is responsible for sourcing, procuring, and managing the supply of SMT components essential for manufacturing electronic assemblies. This role also involves creating and managing proposals for new projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sourcing and Procurement:

• Identify and qualify suppliers of SMT components, including resistors, capacitors, ICs, and other related electronic parts.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure the best possible deals while maintaining quality standards.
• Place and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and resolution of any issues related to procurement.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage reordering processes to prevent production delays due to component shortages.

2. Proposal Management:

• Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to understand project requirements and create comprehensive proposals.
• Evaluate component specifications and costs to provide accurate cost estimates and recommendations in proposals.
• Prepare and present detailed proposals, including cost breakdowns, delivery schedules, and supplier capabilities.
• Track proposal progress and address any client inquiries or adjustments needed during the proposal process.

3. Supplier Relationship Management:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable and effective communication.
• Conduct regular performance reviews of suppliers, including quality assessments and delivery performance.
• Resolve any supply chain issues promptly, including shortages, delays, or quality problems.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier agreements, and inventory levels.
• Generate regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and proposal status for management review.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in purchasing SMT components or related electronic components.
• Strong understanding of SMT technology and component specifications.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze data and market trends to make informed decisions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
