Position Summary:
The Finance Assistant Manager/Accountant will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of financial activities for both the manufacturing and trading arms of the business, including financial reporting, month-end closing, and the establishment of robust accounting policies. The ideal candidate must have 10-15 years of experience as an Audit Senior or Audit Associate with a reputable audit firm and a strong background in full-set accounting. Experience in the manufacturing and trading industries will be considered an advantage. Additionally, the candidate will be involved in the ongoing implementation of the Odoo ERP system.
The successful candidate will also provide guidance and training to the accounts staff, ensuring the accuracy of financial data and processes. They will be assigned new scopes of work from time to time.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
Prepare and present accurate financial statements for both the manufacturing and trading entities, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Month-End Closing:
Lead the month-end closing process for both arms of the business, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial results.
Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses for management review.
Accounting Policy Development:
Set up and establish comprehensive accounting policies and procedures from the ground up for both the manufacturing and trading entities.
Develop a chart of accounts suitable for a group of companies.
Accounts Management:
Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions for both entities.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions and reconciliations.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process and financial forecasting for both the manufacturing and trading arms to support strategic planning.
Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing insights for decision-making.
Tax Management:
Oversee all aspects of tax compliance, including Goods and Services Tax (GST), Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), and corporate income tax.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and timely filing of tax returns for both entities.
Manage tax planning and strategy to minimize tax liabilities.
Manufacturing Costing:
Establish and maintain accurate manufacturing costing systems for the manufacturing arm to ensure proper allocation of costs.
Ensure that internal transactions between the manufacturing and trading entities are correctly charged and reconciled.
Process Establishment:
Work toward establishing proper Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash, and Record to Report processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Team Development:
Provide training and mentorship to the accounts staff to enhance their understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the finance team.
Meeting Deadlines:
Ability to meet reporting deadlines by leading the team effectively and ensuring all tasks are completed on time.
Audit Coordination:
Collaborate with external auditors to ensure compliance with audit requirements.
Review audit findings and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Financial Analysis:
Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs to drive business performance.
Odoo ERP Implementation:
Participate in the implementation of the Odoo ERP system, ensuring proper integration with accounting processes.
Collaborate with IT and external consultants to customize the ERP to meet the financial reporting and operational needs of the company.
Qualifications: Educational Background:
Chartered Accountant (CA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is preferred.
Alternatively, a Cost Accountant (CMA) or Company Secretary (CS) qualification is acceptable.
Alternatively, CPA (Certified Public Accountant), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) or any internationally accredited certification would be advantageous.

Professional Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, including 3-5 years as an Audit Senior or Audit Associate at a reputable audit firm.
Strong knowledge of full-set accounting and financial reporting.
Experience in the manufacturing and trading industries will be an added advantage.
Familiarity with Odoo ERP or similar ERP systems is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
In-depth understanding of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and IFRS.
Familiarity with PCAOB standards and experience with group consolidation will be an added advantage.
Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques will be an added advantage.
Knowledge of taxation laws and compliance requirements in India.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders effectively.
Ability to lead and motivate a team in a dynamic work environment.
