Project Management Unit (PMU) Manager

Job Summary:

The PMU Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of the project, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget. The role involves stakeholder coordination, risk management, compliance, and reporting to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Implementation

• Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
• Define project scope, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Ensure alignment with organizational and funding agency guidelines.

2. Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Liaise with government agencies, funding organizations, consultants, and contractors.
• Facilitate communication between project teams and external partners.
• Organize and lead meetings with stakeholders.

3. Financial & Resource Management

• Oversee project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor fund utilization and ensure compliance with financial policies.
• Coordinate procurement and resource allocation.

4. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

• Track project progress and ensure adherence to timelines.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Prepare periodic reports for senior management and funding agencies.

5. Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure the project adheres to legal, environmental, and safety regulations.
• Implement best practices and maintain quality standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: Masters degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification: PMP/PRINCE2 certification or equivalent.
• Experience working with government agencies, NGOs, or international funding organizations (World Bank, UN, etc.).
• Knowledge of procurement guidelines and contract management.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience: 7+ years of experience in project management, preferably in government, infrastructure.
• Preference to be given to Candidate with exposure in Government working Ecosystem

Preferred Skill:

• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and other project management tools.
