Software Dev Manager, FireTV

The SDM for FTV Catalog Tooling team will define the technical roadmap for Operations Tooling as well as overall Tooling initiatives across FTV and Merchandising.

In this role, youll have the opportunity to shape the future of our Catalog Tooling ecosystem. Youll work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers, to identify pain points and develop innovative solutions that streamline processes, enhance user experiences, and drive business growth.

You will launch new micro cloud services and ultra-high volume transaction API s which will be the base for building variety of features for FireTV Tooling and Merchantizing. You will raise the bar on current design, propose improvements, identify impact to dependent systems, and execute on the proposals successfully.

Key job responsibilities
* Help develop technical roadmap, strategy, and roadmap for FireTV product initiatives
* Facilitate the technical architecture between multiple complex systems.
* Create buy-in for the technical vision and strategy both internally and with key external partners
* Manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, schedule, performance and cost
* Proactively identify and resolve technical risks and issues that may impair the teams ability to meet strategic or technical goals.
* Collaborate with cross-functional team to deliver the best product for our customers
* Experience managing high performance team and a track record hiring and building a team

Under Amazon devices organization, FireTV Catalog and Operations team owns core Catalog services/tools to understand and manage catalog data which is continually growing. This is based on cutting edge technologies such as Java, React, GraphQL, and AWS backend stack. The systems you build are the foundation for FireTV content forward experience and the operational business. It generates critical data to power FireTVs video catalog and discovery experiences. You will work with product and other technology teams to explore solutions to improve FireTVs key business metrics. - 7+ years of engineering experience
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
