Managing the production processes, including scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control. Overseeing the plant workforce, including hiring, training, and evaluating employees. Developing and implementing production plans and procedures to ensure that production targets are met. Ensuring that the plant is compliant with all relevant health and safety regulations, and that employees are trained and equipped to work safely. Managing the plant's inventory, including raw materials, finished products, and supplies. Coordinating with other departments, such as production planning, engineering, and quality control, to ensure that production processes are optimized. Monitoring plant performance and identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions as required. Ensuring that plant equipment is properly maintained and serviced, and that maintenance schedules are followed. Developing and implementing plant budgets, and monitoring expenses to ensure that they are within budget. Communicating with senior management on plant performance and issues and providing regular reports on production metrics and key performance indicators. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with employees and external stakeholders.
