Store Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Store Assistant for our Thermal Power Project. The Store Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the projects material storage, ensuring the safe receipt, storage, and distribution of equipment, spare parts, and materials required for the project. This position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the logistics operations to meet project deadlines and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inventory Management: Assist in the receiving, storing, and issuing of materials and supplies required for the thermal power project, ensuring the correct quantity and quality of materials as per the project specifications.
• Stock Control: Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and report on material usage. Perform regular stock counts (physical verification) and assist in periodic inventory audits.
• Material Handling: Safely handle and organize materials, tools, and equipment in compliance with safety standards. Ensure materials are properly stored, labeled, and protected from damage.
• Receiving and Inspection: Receive incoming materials, verify them against purchase orders, and inspect for damage or discrepancies. Notify relevant personnel of any issues with deliveries.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records for all materials received, issued, and returned. Assist with documentation such as Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs), Material Issue Vouchers (MIVs), and other store-related paperwork.
• Logistics Support: Assist the Store Manager and logistics team in the coordination of material distribution to various departments or project teams, ensuring timely delivery and availability of materials.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all materials are stored in compliance with safety standards and guidelines. Report any safety hazards or issues in the storage area promptly.
• Material Movement: Assist in loading/unloading of materials and transport to appropriate locations within the project site as per project requirements.
• Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the storage area clean and organized, ensuring easy access to materials and a safe working environment.
• Communication: Liaise with procurement, engineering, and construction teams to understand material requirements and ensure timely availability of necessary supplies.
