Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Project Manager to oversee the product design and development of Electric Interlocking systems within the field of Railway Signalling. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of railway signalling systems, particularly in the design, development, and implementation of Electric Interlocking solutions, as well as extensive experience managing complex projects.

As the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams, ensuring that project deliverables are met on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards. You will work closely with stakeholders, including engineering, design, production, and customer teams, to ensure the successful development and implementation of innovative and reliable signalling solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management:
    • Lead and manage end-to-end project life cycle for Electric Interlocking product design and implementation within railway signalling systems.
    • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resources, and risk management strategies.
    • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure that all deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
    • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including clients, project teams, and senior management, providing project status updates, resolving any issues, and ensuring alignment with business goals.
    • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including design engineers, technical specialists, and quality assurance teams.
  2. Product Design & Development:
    • Oversee the design and engineering of Electric Interlocking systems, ensuring they meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure the systems are optimized for safety, reliability, and efficiency.
    • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in product design and integration.
    • Ensure thorough documentation of the design and testing phases, and maintain compliance with quality and safety regulations.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities, to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery.
    • Understand customer needs and work closely with them to refine product specifications and ensure satisfaction with the final product.
    • Manage customer expectations and provide technical support as needed throughout the product lifecycle.
  4. Risk Management & Compliance:
    • Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring that potential issues are proactively addressed.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and certification processes.
    • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to quality control processes.
  5. Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop project team members, providing guidance on technical and project management best practices.
    • Foster a collaborative team culture focused on problem-solving, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
  6. Budget & Resource Management:
    • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and within financial constraints.
    • Oversee procurement of materials, services, and resources required for successful project completion.

Key Requirements:

  • Educational Qualifications:
    • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Railway Engineering, or a related field.
    • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in project management within the railway signalling industry, specifically in Electric Interlocking systems or similar products.
    • Strong technical background with experience in the design and implementation of signalling systems, including product design, integration, and testing.
    • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex engineering projects from conception to delivery.
    • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams towards project success.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
    • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations related to railway signalling.
    • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar tools).
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Desirable:
    • Familiarity with railway interlocking standards (e.g., EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129).
    • Knowledge of electric and electronic control systems, signalling software, and automation technologies.
