Job Description
- Design, plan, and oversee the implementation of MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, etc.) for various construction projects.
- Prepare and review detailed MEP drawings, specifications, and system layouts in compliance with local regulations and project requirements.
- Coordinate MEP designs with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration and efficient functioning of systems.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to verify design accuracy and ensure proper implementation during construction.
- Manage and supervise MEP installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
- Prepare project budgets, timelines, and resource plans, ensuring that all MEP work is completed on schedule and within budget.
- Provide technical support and guidance to contractors, sub-contractors, and other project team members throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and approve materials and equipment specifications, ensuring that they meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Perform energy efficiency analysis and propose cost-effective and sustainable solutions for MEP systems.
- Ensure compliance with local and international standards, codes, and regulations in all MEP designs and installations.
- Monitor and resolve any issues that arise during the installation or operational phase of MEP systems, providing solutions as required.
- Assist in project documentation, including reports, meeting minutes, and project updates for stakeholders and clients.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers and staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering or related field.
- 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in MEP engineering, with expertise in design, implementation, and project management.
- Proficiency in MEP design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant engineering tools.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, MEP codes, regulations, and standards in Oman or the GCC region.
- Experience in coordinating and managing MEP systems for commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to propose innovative solutions.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and team coordination.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Familiarity with energy-efficient systems and sustainable practices in MEP design and implementation.
