Role Overview:
Fakeeh Care Group is seeking a skilled and dedicated Cast Technician | Orthopedic Technician to join our orthopedic team. This position is crucial for providing specialized care to orthopedic patients, particularly in casting and related orthopedic procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in orthopedic technology or nursing, with specific experience in applying and removing POP (Plaster of Paris) casts and providing support in orthopedic care.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply and remove POP casts and other orthopedic devices.
Assist in the management of orthopedic patients, including handling casting material, ensuring the correct positioning, and monitoring cast integrity.
Ensure the patient is comfortable and educate them on post-casting care.
Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons and healthcare providers to provide optimal care.
Maintain accurate patient records and assist in tracking the progress of treatment.
Handle, maintain, and manage orthopedic supplies and equipment, ensuring availability for procedures.
Provide support during various orthopedic procedures, including fracture management and surgical cast application.
Assist with patient assessments, including observation of injuries and conditions that may require casting or orthopedic intervention.
Adhere to hospital protocols, infection control standards, and safety measures.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor s Degree in Orthopedic Technology or B.Sc Nursing with experience in an orthopedic department.
At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a relevant orthopedic role, including experience with POP casting.
Sound understanding of orthopedic procedures, cast application, and management.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Ability to manage patient care with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Skills & Competencies:
Proficiency in the application and removal of plaster casts.
Experience with orthopedic fracture care and post-operative casting.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Knowledge of infection control practices within an orthopedic setting.
Ability to assess and address patient needs in a professional and compassionate manner.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
